An Overview of Our EAP Model. We work by a traditional 4-session (4 hour) EAP model that should generally proceed in the following manner:
Thank you for partnering with us to assist our clients in your area. If you have any procedural questions, please contact us. If you have any clinical concerns regarding a client, please let us know immediately. How many sessions are authorized by All Points EAP?Upon the initial referral from All Points, an intake manager will authorize four (4) sessions for the initial assessment of theclient’s presenting problems and to develop an action plan for resolving or improving the client’s concerns. Generally, four hours is the maximum for reimbursable EAP services. Does All Points EAP pay for “No Shows” and last minute cancellations? As a rule, All Points does not pay for No Shows or cancellations. If a client does not show for 2 consecutive appointments, then theclient should be referred back to All Points. At that time, All Points will assist the client with a referral outside of the EAP either through the client’s insurance or through private pay. Does All Points EAP pay for “Case Management”?As a rule, All Points does not pay for the Case Management conducted on the part of the EAP Affiliate. However, there are exceptions to this rule on a case by case basis. If there is an inordinate amount of time spent on case management in a certain case, an Affiliate may call All Points to discuss reimbursement. Please keep in mind that this is done on a case-by-case basis. A request will not guarantee reimbursement, nor will the granting of a request necessarily warrant reimbursement for future requests. Who is responsible for making the referral after the EAP Assessment? The EAP Affiliate is the “expert” in their area on local community resources, including, but not limited to, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, substance abuse facilities, hospitals, and support groups. It is the responsibility of the Affiliate to discuss insurance coverage and referral options with each client that they are referring. We request that the Affiliate call the referral sources to verify they are accepting new clients prior to giving the information to the client. A follow up call with the client is recommended to verify that the referral was acceptable. Can I refer the client to myself for counseling beyond their EAP sessions?Self-referral is generally prohibited. All Points’ philosophy is that a conflict of interest is created when a self-referral is made. No referrals may be made to yourself or to any other person/facility where you may be construed as benefiting financially. If the client makes a request to continue seeing you beyond the scope of EAP, you- the Affiliate, must contact All Points immediately to discuss the situation further. In rare circumstances, you may be able to keep a client for continuing care, but only with prior approval from All Points EAP.
